On May 5th, St. Matthew's congregation voted to call Pastor Tina Mackie as our new senior pastor. After the vote, there was a congregation luncheon and it was celebratory. God bless Pastor Tina Mackie and God bless St. Matthew's Church!

This year we started the St. Matthew's Community Garden. It will be an organic garden featuring nine rental beds for members and two beds dedicated to the Chester County Food Bank. The Chester County Food Bank partners with community gardens to help address the increased demand for food assistance in Chester County. Through our garden we hope to cultivate a sense of community at our church for a common purpose. We look forward to watching this project grow.

Calling St. Matthew's Members, Friends and Family of all ages! Join us at "Celebrate Your Faith" night with the Reading Phillies. Enjoy the game, spend time with family and friends and see some great fireworks! We have a section of seats reserved for the game on Thursday, July 25 to see the Reading Phillies play the New Britain Rocket Cats. Tickets will be sold now through June 2 and can be purchased in between services in the Christian Learning Center. You can also email Nicole Ramsey at enramsey1@verizon.net. Tickets are $9.00 a piece. Cash and checks accepted (payable to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church).
The list of requested items and the sign-up sheet will be on the bulletin board right next to the registration forms and information. We would like to collect these items by Sunday, July 7 and people can put the donated items on the table in the CLC kitchen.
We are planning on holding our next New Member class in September or October. We will post the dates as soon as they are finalized.
